If you're like me, there's nothing on the planet more important to you than your family.

It did me. And even though I worked as a journalist, I vowed not to do it.

 

I wasn't about to have someone else influence their futures. And I don't regret it for a minute. It's been enriching and satisfying for all of us.

 

But I have to be honest.

 

It was also a tremendous sacrifice financially. My husband worked hard, but we barely squeaked by every month. I often thought, "If only I could start my own business and make the extra money we need!"
